  1. Plan my meals in advance so I can eat healthy. Snack on healthy foods.
  2. Plan my days so that I will exercise in order to lose weight and get a toner body.
  3. Take some “ME” time to just relax and feel rejuvenated. A body needs Food - Exercise and rest after all :)

May 25 - Mood Swings

Well I had a 4 day weekend. Hallelujah that doesn’t happen often.

I’ve could of done without the visit of Aunt Flow on Thursday but what can you do. She stayed for the whole 4 day weekend and is even over staying her welcome.

Well anyways….we had a yard sale during the weekend, we installed our over ground pool. 

My husband and I celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary .

We played in the pool, brought the dog for his walks, went to my daughter’s to play tennis. I went just to tag along, but this time it got to me. I really felt like crying. I should be used to being visually impaired by now but I’m really not. I will never accept it - Oh I deal with it but I’ll never accept it.

It’s so hard when you’ve had your vision and was able to participate in so many things and now I have restrictions. I can’t see the tennis ball therefore can’t play then when it starts getting darker I can’t even make out the people anymore. It’s just so frustrating.

Some times I get sick and tired of walking around with a smile on my face when I really feel like “exploding”.   Sometimes I get tired of people thinking that I am so strong when all I want to do is “let it all out”.

Like I said it’s really frustrating when you want to do something but the fact is something I just can’t do no matter how hard I try.

All I can do is count my blessing for all that I CAN DO!


Day 8 & 9

Worked all weekend and boy oh boy was it ever busy!

Of course it’s always busier at work during the weekend but since it was Mother’s Day it was just crazy busy.

We didn’t walk the dog this weekend it was raining it was cold and I was just bushed! Saturday after work all I remember is having supper, sipping on my tea and passing out on the couch.

This Sunday well I worked until 6, hubby make supper then we went to my sister to celebrate Mother’s Day and there you have it the evening is over.

Got a beautiful Mother’s Day gift - a card to get a manicure and pedicure and this week I’ll be going for a fresh cut and color.

When that was the weekend but I do need to get back on the saddle this week.

All I n can say it thank god I’ve got a job that keeps be active I’m lucky if I get to sit 15 min at my desk at work. Some people at work even wonder why I have a desk lol

I also pack a healthy lunch to work so I don’t feel guilty when I miss the walks but it’s just not the same.

I really do like to put on my activewear and go out for a walk along side the river or simply listen to my favorite music on my ipod and exercise away!


May 7 - Day 7

Waist: 32 ½

 

Day 2 off from walking.

I worked the night shift and didn’t take the dog for his 45 min walk like I intended to do.

I got up this morning cleaned the kitchen, made myself a cup of green tea and did a load of laundry.

I sat down at the PC and did some office work. (2 hours) then I hit the showers. Hubby came home for lunch and next thing I knew it was time to leave to work.

Good thing I walk a lot at work and that I do make a conscious choice of taking the stairs over the elevator/escalator.

I’m working all weekend and I hope it won’t rain I really want to go back for our walks. Oh well if it rains I’ll work on my “medicine ball” routine and do a few sumo squats!

I’m really feeling fit lately it’s like I’m walking taller! 


May 6 - Day 6

Weigh in: 126
 
Waist: 32 ½

Today was my day off so I stayed an extra hour in bed.

Did some light housework a bit of office work

We also took a day off from walking today its okay because one of my ankle needed the break. 

I did 5 reps of 7 of leg extension and that was it.

Since I’m working tomorrow night I’ll be taking the dog for a 45 min walk around the block and I’ll be catching up on my walking and stair climbing at work!


May 5 - Day 5 part 2

Well we didn’t take our 90 min walk today but the good news is that we took a 60 min walk and we didn’t get caught in the rain.

 I don’t know at what time the thunder storm is going to hit but at least we didn’t let that stop us.


May 5 - Day 5

Well as I always do at work I took the stairs over the elevator/escalator at work plus I’ve spend all day on the floor couldn’t even say how many steps I took.

I really want to go take our daily walk with the dog but man oh man it looks like it’s going to rain “cats and dogs” heehee. If we leave to go take that 90 min walk I’m afraid we’ll come back soak and wet.

Maybe I’ll just go put on a pair of rain pants and go for a 45 min walk around the block.

Can you imagine I’ll feel guilty if I don’t go for my walk lol

Well I’ll go get change and I’ll see what I’m going to do!


May 4 - Day 4

Weigh in: 127

Waist:        33

·          90 min walk

(Right after supper my husband and I put on our running shoes and are DOING IT!)

·          Weights

I’ve added wrist weight to my walk - I’m sure that will help my under arm flab darn it’s not funny being over 40 lol)

·          Facial routine/Skin Care

(I’ve also made sure to take care of my skin. Wash - Clarify and Moisturize plus exfoliate 2 times a week. I’m also making sure to put on my day cream and night cream. 

Taking care of my skin drinking water and green tea really is making a difference my skin really looks and feels more moisturized.

Well I’m certainly on the right track and loving it.
 

May 3 - Day 3

Weigh in: 127

Glad to say I’m still on track and keeping active even after a busy days work!

Enjoyed my shredded wheat with a sliced banana sprinkled with cinnamon

A glass of orange juice with my vitamins.

For lunch I had a veggie lover salad, some red grapes, a banana and some strawberries. Green tea.

For supper hubby made some spaghetti with meat and cheese.

I drank water all day and made some smoothie after taking the dog for a 90 minute walk.


May 2 - Day 2

Weigh in: 126.6
 
Waist:        33 ½
 
 ·          Had breakfast
 
·          Took a 45 min walk with the dog
 
·          Finished my laundry
 
·          Polished my whole bedroom and cleaned the mirrors and windows in my room
 
·          Had lunch
 
·          Went and done some groceries with my husband
 
·          Made supper - Had supper
 
·          My husband and I brought the dog for a beautiful walk along side the Ottawa River. (more than an hour walk - it was real nice)

Now I think I’ll go make myself a cup of green tea and then wash the dishes.

It was a beautiful weekend I’m glad I had it off and actually enjoyed it!


May 1 - Day 1

Well like I said this is a brand new month and time to get back on track. 

No more slacking off I need to keep focus and motivated. I know May just started but that only means that June is just around the corner and if I want to wear that itsy bitsy yellow polka dot bikini this summer I got to step it up a bit.

Today I got up and had my breakfast and took my B12 and iron supplement.

After breakfast my husband and I went for a beautiful walk with the dog.

You could see that people had been working on their front yards and gardens.  The tulips were out and the perennials really smelled nice.

When we came back from our walk I made myself a delicious fruit smoothie.

This afternoon after lunch we all went bowling. We’ve played 3 games each and had a real good time.

We just finished supper not to long ago I’ll go do the dishes and I think I’ll go “throw a few hoops” with my son in the drive way. Or maybe we’ll go play now before it gets dark.

Being active one day at a time!
 
 

Tired!!!

I was sleeping so well this morning didn’t feel like getting up at the sound of my alarm clock.

I think I’ve pressed snooze twice before I actually getting up.

Finally did but didn’t even think about weighing myself.

I ate breakfast and made sure to take my B12 and iron supplement.

Thank god the day is over. Being on my feet all day surely didn’t help today and my back felt like it was on fire. Anyways I’ve made it through the day.

I am soooooooooo tired.

I’ve just taken my second iron supplement and I’ll be heading to bed. I really need my 8+ of rest.

Tomorrow is another day - Can’t wait to be off this weekend!!!!!!


Aunt Flow

I just knew it!!! See it’s not just in my mind it really was those PMS creeping in.

“Mother Nature” !!!!

So I’m marking my calendar with a big RED DOT

At least the mood swings are gone, the cravings are gone and the headaches are gone. 

Now all I have to deal with is the backaches and the heavy flow.

Oh well 2 weeks of symptoms, a week’s visit from aunt Flow and that will leave me a week of being  my old self heehee.

Put in a good day of walking at work today.

Took the stairs over the elevator

I even walked up the escalator instead of letting it taking me for a ride.


Survived the weekend!

I survived the weekend at work but oh my, what a tuff weekend emotional wise.

I gave into my PMS cravings and I know that, that’s just what they are because I’ve been having those mood swings, I’ve been tired and gave into the salty and chocolaty cravings.

Good thing I’ve continued to exercise!

 Symptoms:

 Started to feel emotional could cry at a drop of a hat

 Irritable - became very out spoken

 Suffering from headaches

 Tired no energy
 
 Feeling blue

 Very moody - Like
GET OUT OF MY WAY!!!

Busy Day at Work

Busy, busy day at work!

Yep it sure shows that the weekend is just around the corner because I’ve been running like crazy at work. When you’re in retail weekends are always super busy and planning for them is equally time consuming.

I’ve been having those mood swings lately. Feeling depressed the sensation that I could start crying at the drop of a hat or yesterday lost patience with my son and even today at work I wasn’t my old smiling self and would just call things the way they are. Let just say that there were no tongue bighting today. You know sometimes you just got to put your foot down!     (In a diplomatic way of course)

I know this is due to PMS I think I get 2 good weeks at of the whole month. It stinks but’s life!

Well today is almost done, we’ll just have to see what tomorrow brings.


Day Off

Got up this morning stretched, did a few warm ups and proceeded with 100 jumping jacks and 20 sumo squats.

I got on the scale weigh myself in and then had breakfast.

Today is my day off so I will bring the dog for a walk but I will also take advantage of this day to make it a “me day” Time to take advantage of this nice weather I will probably go sit in the backyard with a good magazine and just relax. Decompress and Recharge!
