Hello Mika,

Substituting coffee with green tea for me was just a health and personal choice.

I am anemic and have to take 2 capsules of iron supplements a day and the doctor had told me to take my iron with orange juice and that drinking coffee would diminish the effectiveness of my iron supplements.

At work I could drink 3 large double-double coffee from Tims and then at 7 p.m. my husband and I would drive to Tim’s for my last fix of the day lol. Now my double-double were 2 creams and 2 sugars (not a healthy choice but oh so good)

I’m now quite use to my green tea and don’t even miss drinking coffee except man does it ever smell good lol.

Hi Everyone!

Further to my post below, I had an assesment done by a nurse this morning so I asked her about the coffee thing!

She said there's nothing wrong with coffee at all and she's never heard any reason to cut it out of your diet if you're trying to lose weight (of course if it's loaded with cream and sugar then you have to think about the cream and sugar in it lol but coffee itself is fine!)

I was very happy and promptly went to Tims for my normal large one milk one sugar! :)

Great job everyone!!

People keep talking about cutting coffee out of their diet... is this just because of the sugar and cream/milk in it?

At Tims their cream is 18% fat, but their milk is only 2% fat! Big difference.

I love my coffee and would hate to cut it out... I only get one a day, one sugar one milk.

Other than that, I drink green tea.

Is drinking coffee so bad?

The Yoga is incredible and yes very relaxed and soft after wards..I like to call my self "BUTTER" when i leave the room!

It was cold today so no walking with the kids..may have to wait as the weather is predicting some coldness!

Keep the tips coming, bit by bit I will get there.

Bumblebee...star bucks is my treat! hubby bought me a gift card to chapters and star bucks ..this is my candy!  I love roaming around and looking at books with a good cup of something delicious!

Armorchick,

Just wanted to comment on the part about the aroma of coffee. I completely relate to enjoying the aroma of coffee. I too have severely reduced my coffee consumption since I've been working on my lifestyle. However, I still pop into starbucks here and there just to get the whiff of the amazing smell of coffee. The smell alone wakes me up. Crazy I know!

You are doing so well! Keep it up!

Hello Juicy,

Ah yoga is great. My friend at work does yoga and she is such in good shape. Her body is so toned; she looks so tall and slim. She loves it because it brings her in a different state of mind. “So relaxing she says”.

Going for a walk with the kids is great. Walking is the best exercise there is. Plus it’s so mild lately that it makes it even more enjoyable to go out for a walk.

 About the tea,

I still love the aroma of coffee but I am glad and proud that I’ve switch to green tea and adding honey just sweets it up.

Now I don’t have a sweet tooth but if I get craving for chocolate during the time of the month I no longer reach for the whole chocolate bar I now eat 1oz of dark chocolate and it satisfies my craving.

Little food substitutes here and there really been helping my weight loss along.

Here’s another example: My husband will eat the extra butter microwave popcorn sprinkle with salt while I will use my old air popper I put about 1 table spoon of olive oil at the bottom and just let it pop. Sometimes I add a sprinkle of cinnamon on it or sometimes nothing at all and it’s good. No salt and no greasy hands.

HI juicy,

Yes I’ve quit drinking coffee and I guess replacing it with green tea and herbal teas did make me calmer. Plus not only did I quit the coffee but I’ve also stopped drinking soft drinks.

I’ve also experienced some “coffee withdrawals like those headaches” but just like quitting smoking the withdrawals eventually went away. Not sure if it’s the caffeine or the sugar that I use to put in my coffee or the amount of sugar that one can of coke contains but yes I am definitely a calmer person.

Yep we’ve been walking the dog and he’s loving it. Good thing Beagles are not afraid of the cold. Well it’s been really mild lately so it’s even more enjoyable.

Thank you, yes I’ve lost more weight I started at around 141 and I’m now down to 129.08 so now I’m working on the last five pounds. Well like I was saying it’s not really about the number but more about burning the fat where it doesn’t belong.

Changing my eating habit really helped and so is exercising.

How are you doing on your journey to healthy weight are you still going to the gym?

Hello Juicy,

One of my New Year’s Resolutions was to start walking the dog on a daily basis.

My New Year’s Resolution Healthy Journey date was Jan 10-10 but I just started walking the dog yesterday.

Well it’s doing both of us some good he’s now sleeping on the floor snoring.  He’s such a good pup.

I haven’t felt the winter blues been to busy at work but I sure do miss the sunlight. I finish work at it’s already dark out. Can’t wait till we change the clock again.

About that itsy, bitsy yellow polka dot bikini, I wish we would sell them at work because I would buy one just to keep me motivated lol.   I think I’ll go check out the mall for one.

I’m also feeling great lately. Changing the junk food with healthy food, eliminating coffee and coke and substituting it with white tea, green tea and drinking more water really made a difference plus taking the stairs over the elevator, I just feel healthier.

It’s funny I’ve quit drinking coffee and I know feel calmer.

I haven't worn an itsy, bitsy in ages!

Winter does give the blues, does make me eat more, and gets me bored!

I started going to the gym in the early am and going to bed earlier, i feel great lately

Hi BEE,

Oh chips…..

B.B.Q. chips were always my favorite but now I’ve substituted them with crunchy veggies like carrots, celery and cucumbers or pita bites. Popcorn is also a good snack. It’s just a matter of snacking healthy.

But it’s true that when it’s winter we are looking for foods to warm up our bodies like soups and stews and pasta rather then smaller meals.

Home made soups and stews are good though and I like to prepare them in my crockpot.

Ah what we’ll know is that summer will be here soon and we’ll be able to wear our itsy yellow polka-dot bikini’s lol

I agreee, sometimes I want to go right for the chips. Especially in the winter.... Is anyone else plagued by the cold? In the winter I'm so tempted to just curl up on the couch and eat snacks (often craving bad snacks).
