Hello Gimm,

Well seems like we have lots in common.

My BMI also said I was at normal weight but I do want to burn the fat where the fat doesn’t belong.

I’m going to be 43 this year and I also want to tone my body. They say we lose muscle mass when we get older so I better start working on it now before it starts sagging lol.

My weakness though were BBQ chips how I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeed BBQ chips but no more. I don’t feel I’m depriving myself either I know that I’m doing my body some good by eliminating the junk food.

I don’t have a sweet tooth and I never fried my food. If we would go out for supper well that was a different story oh those delicious zucchini and French fries or that fried chicken I use to have at work on weekends…..ok enough of that! Lol

I do use oil when I stir fry my veggies I love to add some extra virgin olive oil I also add some lemon juice for flavor specially on fish.

Well it seems like your doing great and well on your way of reaching your weight goal.

I’m eating healthier but I just got to stay motivated with my exercise routine. I tend to skip some exercises

I'm doing the point thing. Trying to anyway lol  i've replaced sodas with flavored water.  I still drink half a  reg ginger ale occasionally(ive had stomach issues since i stopped smoking) Which is now much improved!! I'm trying to pick out healthier foods, such as low fat.  I have coffee everyday with sugar subsitute and fat free powdered creamer(thats how ive always had it)  Trying to eat more fruits and veggies and especially watching portion size.  No junk food at all.  I'm going to allow myself one eat out meal a week.  Other than that, im going to prepare my own food.  I don't use oil, just cooking spray.  I love loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee fried foods.  Thats my weakness.  I'm frying with a touch of cooking oil spray and water. No to bad.  My BMI test said i was a normal healthy weight, but i want to weigh some less.  It seems most of my extra weight gain from not smoking has resided in the ab area!  i hate that lol............I'm also walking on treadmill 5 days a week for at least 20 mins.  I wanna tone and firm up a bit.  Which is a good thing at my age lol..........mid 40's.... my husband has been watching what he eats for over a year now, its just took me a long time to join him!  I used to prepare his foods, then mine.  Now we are eating the same things, which makes it a lot easier cooking.  He has lost over 30lbs and has kept it off.  He is more into baked, boiled foods even before dieting,  I'm more into fatty deep fried food.  Anyway im 5'7 and on monday of this week i weighed 158 pounds!! Which part of that was bloating, water from a certain time of the month.  Today im at 151 which is more of a true weight.  I want to lose weight at around 2lbs a week.

Hello Gimm,

My healthy weight journey started on Jan 10, 2010 and my goal is also to lose 15 pounds.

I started at I think 140 or 141 and I’m now down to 130 pounds. So far so good I’m working on my last 5 pounds.

You say you’ve started a diet wed of this past week, how is it going and what changes are you doing so that it will become a permanent weigh loss.

I know I’ve changes my snacking habit. No more junk food.

I’ve also eliminated coffee from my diet but that’s only because I use to drink at least 4 coffees a day and would take them double-double. Now I drink green tea with honey.

I’ve also been watching the sodium intake there is lots of salts hidden in our foods. Not just junk food like chips but take out and soups.

Making healthy choices is making a difference for me.

Well hello Gimm nice to meet you and welcome to the online support group.

I’ve learned about this sister site from a Health Educator on the “NicoDerm Journey to Success” site quitting smoking can indeed make us gain a few pounds.

That’s also the reason I’ve found my way here. Guess I had replaced smoking with unhealthy snacking.

Oh well one thing at a time right? lol
